The Spring Archive, part 1

If people did not love one another, I really don't see what use there would be in having any spring. (Victor Hugo)

Welcome to The Spring Archive, part 1! We're finally (almost) forgetting the chill of winter. But even though we're all still feeling the cold in the air, there's an exciting sense of rebirth that only spring can bring! As always, I've curated some recommendations for you, featuring music, podcasts, books, fragrances, and movies, all perfect for embracing the start of this beautiful season.

Happy March, and, as always, happy reading!

visualizing/wearing — march moodboard & fragrance

As I do every month, I created a little collage to celebrate the start of the season. This time, I paired it with one of my favorite spring fragrances (one I always recommend, along with For Her). I love a musky, floral and delicate scent, and this one opens with a beautiful Magnolia note. How could I not love it?

listening — march podcasts and music

Playlist —

  • Nothing special, just some songs that reminds me of endless daffodils gardens.

Podcast —

  • A fresh start with Spring Cleaning.

During the winter season, we have less energy to do anything, especially clean, but as our house becomes a mess and cluttered, so do our minds. Spring cleaning is a great way to start fresh for the new season. As your space clears, so will your mind! In this episode, we discuss the most effective way to spring clean without burning out. We cover topics like the tradition behind spring cleaning, how to clean efficiently, the differences between deep cleaning, cleaning, and organizing, and all the areas of your house you can clean. Whether you are looking to have peace of mind with your messy home or just learn a few tips about cleaning, this episode will help you purge your home of messes through the spring season!

reading — march books

Trees and flowers, romance and friendship, tears and frustration. Five perfect reads for the start of the season!

  • Little Weirds written by Jenny Slate.

Hello and welcome to my book. Inside you will find: The smell of honeysuckle —Heartbreak- — A French-kissing rabbit — A haunted house — Death — A vagina singing sad old songs — Young geraniums in an ancient castle — Birth — A dog who appears in dreams as a spiritual guide — Divorce — Electromagnetic energy fields — Emotional horniness — The ghost of a sea captain — And more. I hope you enjoy these little weirds. Love, Jenny Slate.

  • I Capture the Castle written by Dodie Smith.

Through six turbulent months of 1934, 17-year-old Cassandra Mortmain keeps a journal, filling three notebooks with sharply funny yet poignant entries about her home, a ruined Suffolk castle, and her eccentric and penniless family. By the time the last diary shuts, there have been great changes in the Mortmain household, not the least of which is that Cassandra is deeply, hopelessly, in love.
